Anaerobic digestion systems use an oxygen free process with anaerobic bacteria to break down wet organic matter – animal, human, plant and food waste. This produces biogas, which is a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide. The biogas is used as a LPG replacement and can be used for all applications where LPG is normally used. The by-product (slurry) from this process is environmentally safe and can be used as an organic soil enricher. Using anaerobic digestion can assist keeping bacteria out of the environment, save precious water resources and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Due to the process being oxygen free there is no smell or unpleasant aspects to this method of waste disposal. As the process is closed and liquid based there is no feedstock for flies or rodents during the process.
